Used for many years successfully but upon upgrading to iPad Air - GigBook does not use full screen and there is no way to get support from the forum as there is no way to become registered. Seems to be no longer supported. Moving on.

This app hasn't been updated in years and the problems I've been having will probably never be fixed. I’ve moved on to iGigBook which has many more features with regular updates and very helpful technical support.
All of a sudden I can add scores saved to Google-Drive! Thanks a bunch. Dropbox has gotten too expensive to upgrade.
Deep dish GigBook is the best PDF chart management app available for gigging musicians. They should charge a subscription… it’s worth much more than $10 for life!
Like many of you, I’ve become reliant on some apps for my day to day work. Gigbook is one. It was a four star app. This app has always been how I access my sheet music and connect to corresponding audio. As of the last Couple of iOS updates, the app has a few big problems. The biggest, for me, is that it crashes if I try to connect an audio track to a sheet. The other problem is the worst: no support. No replies. No updates. Which is awful. This was the case for a while. The app was abandoned and then, thankfully, picked back up and cared for. This no longer seems to be the case. DeepDish: if you still exist and are reading this; please do not abandon this app and please fix the big bugs. Latest bugs as of 11/23 iOS update: *Can no longer input time signature. GUI turns white. *Can no longer connect songs to Apple Music tracks. Existing song connections require tapping play (which does nothing) then stop and then play again. *Super bookmark is busted. When trying to super-bookmark a page from a collection, the selected page can vanish and the screen suddenly flips to the end of the book collection. *When trying to add songs to collection from “recently added” the most recent song is hidden because the list hides the top song.
New review No longer useful. No one is monitoring the app! With the new update from apple, almost nothing works! Can’t put charts into set lists or folders, can’t even email sets. Click on settings, and help, the app closes. I’ve used it for years. Looks like I’ll have to go to forScore. Very frustrating! I've used GigBook for a few years now and love the app. I play several instruments and in 2 bands and do a solo project as well. This app can take your pdf files and you can put them into as many folders/binders and set lists as you need. Its easy to navigate to find songs or even collections/books that you download by just clicking from your iTunes account. Easy and handy as well. You can reverse pinch and make the page bigger, ad highlights or annotations. I use it with my iPad and don’t go to any practice or jam without it. Plus, the admin is very responsive to input! Highly recommended!
i’ve been using this for years and it has worked mostly well: -syncs great with dropbox -easy to learn and read menus and options things i want it to do: -transfer to my other devices -transfer to another use without wifi -stop crashing when trying to link audio samples to a chart -read a document other than a .pdf please update the bugs and features and i’ll gladly return!
Had used this app and liked it for years. Be aware that it does not work on new M based iPads. Very disappointed and to switch to forscore
I spent hundreds of hours on this app. And when I had to update my iPad, I lost most my files. There is NO support for this app. I really don’t know why Apple still has this on there site.
I have loaded this app years ago and now this app required an update? I tried to update but it mentioned I needed to agree on terms and conditions. It wouldn’t bring up the terms and conditions to agree on. So I couldn’t update. so I had to delete old app icon and reload. Well, it required me to pay 9.99 to upload. So I guess this app you have to pay for now? I believe it was free back when I got it. What happened to grandfather us old timers? There are better apps out there.
If GigBook hasn’t updated for 3 years, is that going to cause my AirTurn pedal not to flip pages , if the pedal & iPad updates but GigBook doesn’t ? Does anyone else have a problem with their pedal not flipping pages anymore? Will GigBook become obsolete if their is no support, no up-dates? What pedal will work with GigBook if ones that did will not now?
When I add chords using the pen in the app, the music doesn’t share well. The marks are smeared and in the wrong place. I have a huge amount of music on the app, more than Dropbox will hold (I’m not willing to pay for extra storage) other than that great program. Lately the app has added a gray bar across the bottom hiding the notes on the bottom. I can’t get rid of it.
I’m embarrassed that I have recommended DD GigBook to many musician friends. I loved it for years but now it crashes unexpectedly, which has happened several times in rehearsals and shows. Totally unacceptable. The app appears to have been abandoned by its developers. But they still make money off of the app. Switching to another app will cost me years of building out over 400 tunes in DD Gigbook. Newcomers, steer clear!
App crashes when linking audio on my new iPad. It works on my old iPad. App hasn’t been updated in 2 years! Was a great app.
Will not link songs to lyrics since iOS update. Do not buy, no support
Great app! However, a year ago when I transferred the app to my new iPad a couple hundred of my scores/lead sheets which had songs from my iTunes attached to not transfer with the attached song. At first the score when opened would throw me out of the app. I could open the score to “details” and simply reconnect the song. I could then open the score. Lately, maybe since I upgraded to iOS 13.1.3, when I try to re-link the song, I get thrown out of the app. I can now only view scores that have the songs linked, or one which have never had a song linked. I hope DD GigBook will correct this issue. I have over 800 scores in the app and so many of them I am unable to view. When it’s working properly, then app is wonderful. I’ve been using it for at least 5 years, mostly for practice. I use the set list function during gigs. I highly recommend the app when it functions properly.
After the iOS update to version 13+, I can no longer attach a music file to a pdf file. Hopefully they will update this app to fix this issue because this is a very good and useful app. Until then, one star.
I’m done.... I’ve been using this for a year and it keeps crashing. Tonight I restarted my iPad 5 times IN A SHOW! And still I could not get it to to stay alive. Talk a out winging it. This is not the first time, but it will be the last. I’m done.
I have tried most of the music reading apps and this one used to comes out on top by far but they have failed to keep up with competition. It is now pretty much the worst. The cataloging system on this app is still the best but the one big, big problem is that the page turns are so slow it renders it pretty useless. If they could fix that problem I would continue using it but, until then, I can’t.
Lately, with the latest iOS update, the app crashes after choosing certain files. Once it crashes, trying to open the same file has the same effect-another crash. I haven’t been able to play some of my favorites songs for a while. Deep Dish needs to keep up with the updates.
I have been emailing them for months with only one reply in the very beginning. I have 3 iPads and it only works one my oldest iPad 1. On the other two they continually crash as soon as opened. I have used this app for along time and all my songs are on it. I'm really at a loss. I hope they read the reviews
I’ve used this app for the past several years. I used to lug a ginormous binder to gigs. It’s so nice to just be able to bring my iPad and a Bluetooth page turner so I can change pages with a foot switch. It’s super easy to organize and navigate, and I like being able to download PDFs from Dropbox. This app is one of the best things I’ve ever purchased for gigging and practicing.
The only problem I am having is when I have some songs in a set list and I set the metronome for one song it copies to all other songs in that set list. So all songs are at 98bpm or whatever. Everything else is amazing. Still love this app.
Very happy with this app. I’ve used it for several years and it’s been stable and reliable. Just upgraded to the gen 6 iPad and am now able to make annotations with the Apple Pencil. I’ve tried a few other gig organizers but keep coming back to this one. I now have a library of over 200 PDFs of lyrics and chords, and like the way the set lists work in a performance situation. I recommend this app.
Any plans to offer open from google drive?
Sorry to report I have been having issues with the app crashing when selecting a song. I have written 2 emails to the deep dish gig book web site and zero response. I see other reviewers have posted the same issue. Disappointed because I have my whole music library loaded and have been using this app for years. I’m dreading deleting it and starting over. C’mon step up developer, please fix it and allow me to upgrade my 1 star rating.
Had some issue at first with swiping pages. After extension searching found that it's not swipe to turn pages, it's touch right side or left side of screen for page turns. Now that I got that figured out the app is perfect!
The current version or two dies every so often, typically when I'm clicking on another song. It hasn't happened during a song, but it's still annoying. Fix that please. There is no easy way to share directly to another gigbook user, unless you want to send an email or Dropbox. Not handy if there is no wifi. Also there is no ability to sync between GigBook on my other iPads. devices. I've a small one, too. I tried some other apps, and settled on another app. I love the menu on DDGB, easy to navigate, where The other app is a train wreck of a menu, it has the ability to crop and remember, sync page turns and selections between two ipads, and more. With crop/remember and device sync, I might run DDGB again.
I have used this app for years. I can't imagine what I would do without it. I use it for both my church piano work and a rock and roll band. I put all my lead sheets into PDF format and have them wherever I go. They are easily sorted into cole coded binders and set lists. I have well over a thousand songs in it. After last update Dropbox was messing up the names. I told Tony and now a few days later it was fixed. Seriously - there really are no other apps like this out there. If you use ipad for gigs - or if you just want an easy way to organize your stuff - this app is a must.
My DDGB stopped connecting to my Dropbox. I contacted their customer service and received one-on-one help right away. We troubleshooted and figured out it came down to an iOS upgrade (if you’re having this problem, upgrade to iOS 11). Thanks, DDGB for the great customer service! I use this app every week as a working musician.
This app seemed very good UNTIL the bugs started showing up. They advertise that you can email set lists and scores to other players 😒... Not so. Then the connection to Drop Box goes down and no other tunes can be added to the catalog. SHOW STOPPER. There's potential in this app, but I don't have time to wait. Don't waste your valuable time trying to unpack this buggy app. Go buy ForScore. Same price and many more features useful for the working musician or even just the weekend warrior. 24 hours into switching and I'm loving it.
A great app for compiling and sorting my music books and single sheet music. The benefit of using this app (instead of iBooks or Adobe) is that I can integrate iTunes tracks right on the page to help me remember how a song sounds. I can also makes performance notes to change a chord quickly and easily. The app did freeze once while I was loading music. It also crashed quite a bit. However, the last few updates have helped tremendously.
I've been using Gigbook for quite a while and am very pleased with it. I use the super bookmarking feature a lot to pull from songs in the Realbook PDFs I also store in it. The keyboard player in the band also uses it and is pleased with it. I've never had any hangs or crashes or anything like that. It's stable and dependable. Maybe the person who said that was maxed out on memory so it was more of a hardware issue.
The problem when it freezes is that one must turn the iPad OFF for it to return to normal. Fix the bugs.
Very nice app, but crashes too much to trust it on a gig.
I'll been using GigBook for almost two years. There were a few bugs with the new OS on my iPad, but DeepDish has addressed them with this new update. (The only frustration I had was that the wrong song would open in a playlist, but that's fixed now since I installed the new update yesterday. Thanks DeepDish!) Now I'm using GigBook on my new iPad Pro. I have an entire hymnal of over 600 hymns installed and several songbooks adding an additional 250 songs. I get a lot of my PDF music via a subscription to CCLI's SongSelect. It's easy to import the pdfs into GigBook. I create a playlist for congregational singing each week. And I can find songs so much faster than paging through a hymnal and songbooks. I just added the AirTurn DUO Bluetooth pedals for turning pages in GigBook, it's so much easier than reaching up from my keyboard and tapping the screen. I love this setup, it takes my mind off the sheets music and just lets me play! I highly recommend GigBook, it's by far the most useful music application I've ever purchased.
No longer can import a PDF from email. DDGB crashes every time. Please fix ASAP!
All the problems that came with OS 10 upgrades have been fixed and DD GigBook is back to its former great form. In addition to creating set lists, you can organize your scores by ensemble, turn pages with a foot pedal, practice with a metronome, and make hand notes on your scores which stay with the chart and can be emailed or uploaded to others. It's now (again) one of the best score managers you can find.
Here is what I wrote many months ago: This app is simply incredible. Thank you to the brains behind this. Bravo! I remember how it started, and you said you would keep the improvements coming. Wow, you certainly did that and now it is a beautiful piece of workmanship. Anyone who wants to get their music papers organized will be glad they found this fine app. Highly recommended, to say the least! Now things have changed. The help files are full of typos, and everywhere I look there is evidence of neglect and lack of concern. This app had humble beginnings, and the dev tried hard in those days to get things right. Now this update, after months of disregard, is too little too late. I already uninstalled this old dog and worked hard to find a replacement. I can’t imagine what it would take to get me to try it again at this point. Once bitten twice shy! How do I know now that it won’t crash in the middle of my gig?
I'm updating my original review. The product is currently unstable, unreliable and not useful. Jan. 10 2017 There has been no updates bug fixes or maintenance for years. If it is not fixed quickly I will switch apps. I've been a user for some time. Overall I like it a lot but no new features have been added which concerns me. I have all my fake books installed which totals 2,500+ tunes. Recently learned that system backups do not restore Gigbook files on properly. If true, it's a show stopper and I'll switch another product". swswitch
This has been my go-to app for gigs for a couple of years, but over the last few months it has become extremely unstable and crashes periodically while being used. I received a message that an update is on the way. If all of the issues are rectified, it'll be worthy of a 5-star app again.
This was my go to app for storing songs and arranging set lists. It is now painful to use. It suddenly quits during gigs. It brings up a different song than the one selected. Here's the kicker, the online support page is no longer available. Just click the App Support button on this page. I am now embarrassed for having suggested this app to my professional musician friends. Do Not Buy! Do Not Buy! Do Not Buy!
Deep dish has not been supporting this app with updates for quite some time. It is now very buggy and is practically useless. This is tragic as this was a great app at one time. I would recommend forScore as a replacement...
What are y'all thinking of changing to? I'll echo the reports of others that there are huge problems with DD Gig Book now. Especially the one where clicking on a song in a set list takes you to the last page of the precious song. Not tenable in a performance situation. I've waited patiently for months for this to be fixed and reached for support with no response.
Ever since upgrading to iOS 10, clicking on a chart brings you to the previous chart. It also often freezes when trying to add annotations. The Deep Dish support pages is not working. Frustrating.
I had this app crash twice on me at gig on Saturday. Not acceptable. I also have the same issue with it bringing up the wrong song from a set list. Links to support are broken. I used to love this app, now I tolerate it because all my music is in it. It's time there was a version for the iPhone, too. I'm seriously looking around for another sheet music management app.
Since iOS 10, DeepDish GigBook is broken. When in set lists or binders, anything except the main song list, whichever sheet you click on automatically takes you to the sheet before it. No support available unless you download a free trial of some e-help software. They do not answer emails; several musicians I know have tried, and none have received responses. I'm currently learning 4Score so I can switch all my sheets over. If you don't need support, and can always remember to click on the next tune to get to the one you want, this is easier to learn than 4Score, but 4score has some great features that GigBook does not. For me, the lack of support is a deal breaker.
Beware: this app is not supported by anyone anymore. I have been waiting for over 3 months to have someone address my issue (app crashes when I try to enter an Author for a song). Tried every avenue to get support for this, no luck. Have to go to another app.
This app used to be useful. Now it's borderline junk. If I open a song in a setlist it always jumps to the previous song in the list. Contacted support, no reply. It also crashes a lot now. Nothing more frustrating than being mid gig and having the app just quit while i'm performing a special song during someones wedding. Many more apps out there and this one is not worth anything now.
